About Age calculator

Calculates exact age in years, months, and days from a birthdate to today, in your browser.

Half the forms on the internet want age as a whole number and quietly discard the months. Fine for a rough bucket. Useless when you actually want to know whether someone is six weeks or eleven months past a birthday.

Enter a birthdate. The page counts years, months, and leftover days up to today on your device clock, same borrowing rules as date difference. Future birthdates get refused instead of a cute negative age. Wrong clock, wrong age; that's your machine talking.

No name field, no email capture, no 'share your age' button. Leap-day birthdays follow whatever your browser's Date object already does for civil calendars; I'm not writing a special leap essay. If a form only wants whole years, round the years down yourself, this page won't drop the months to make the number look tidier.

I built this because I kept needing 'how old is this person today' while filling paperwork, not because I want a growth chart or a zodiac readout. The answer is three numbers. Copy them and move on.

How to use Age calculator

  1. 1Enter the birthdate.
  2. 2Read years, months, and days.
  3. 3Change the date if you're checking someone else; nothing is saved.

What it won't do

  • Local calendar only, no lunar or fiscal ages.
  • Not a life-expectancy or astrology tool.

Common questions

Is age calculated in whole years only?

No. You get years, months, and leftover days. Whole years alone hide whether the birthday was last week or almost a year ago.

What timezone is 'today'?

Whatever calendar date your browser thinks it's. Another city's midnight doesn't move the result until your local date rolls over.

Can I pick a different 'as of' date than today?

Use date difference and set both ends. This page is the boring common case: birthdate versus now, one field, done.

Why this one doesn't upload your file

There is no server to upload to. This page is a static file, and the work happens in your browser using the same graphics and WebAssembly code that renders every other site you visit. Your file is read from disk into memory, processed, and handed back as a download. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the network entirely and it keeps working. The longer explanation
