About Unix timestamp converter
Convert Unix timestamps to human-readable dates and back, with auto seconds/ms detection, timezone display, batch paste, and relative time.
Log files and APIs disagree about seconds versus milliseconds. Values above 9,999,999,999 are treated as milliseconds; otherwise seconds. The detected unit is shown so you are not guessing.
The datetime picker writes a timestamp from this browser's local clock. The timezone selector only changes how the absolute time is displayed — Unix time itself is UTC-based.
Batch mode accepts one timestamp per line and builds a table with absolute and relative columns. Relative strings use Intl.RelativeTimeFormat (“3 days ago”, “in 2 hours”).
How to use Unix timestamp converter
- 1Paste a timestamp or click Now (seconds) / Now (ms).
- 2Optionally change the display timezone.
- 3For logs, paste many timestamps into Batch and read the table.
What it won't do
- Datetime-local input uses the browser's local zone, not an arbitrary IANA zone for entry.
- Leap seconds are not modeled; Date math is ordinary ECMAScript time.
Common questions
How do you tell seconds from milliseconds?
A magnitude check: values greater than 9,999,999,999 are treated as milliseconds. That covers current real-world Unix time.
Does changing timezone alter the Unix number?
No. It only changes the formatted absolute date string.
Is batch conversion uploaded?
No. Everything stays in the tab.

Why this one doesn't upload your file
There is no server to upload to. This page is a static file, and the work happens in your browser using the same graphics and WebAssembly code that renders every other site you visit. Your file is read from disk into memory, processed, and handed back as a download. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the network entirely and it keeps working. The longer explanation
