Add text
Add text places a caption with font size, colour, stroke, and shadow. Labels on a diagram, a title on a photo, a watermark-like line when you still want it to read as a caption. Drag it where it needs to sit, then download.
Captions, meme text, borders, arrows, freehand, redaction, and signatures, drawn in the browser on a copy of your image, never uploaded.

Annotation is for the screenshot you're about to send: a caption, an arrow, a box around the bug, a blur over an email address, a signature on a scan. It isn't Figma and it isn't a full drawing tablet app. The tools are few on purpose.
Redact pixelates or blurs a rectangle you select. Treat it as a privacy tool, not a decoration. Check the download. A light blur on a 4K screenshot isn't redaction.
Meme generator is the classic top and bottom Impact-style layout. Add text is the more general caption tool with colour, stroke, and shadow. If you need both, start with Add text.

Meme generator is top and bottom text, large, outlined, unapologetic. It isn't a caption tool for a client presentation. If you want a quiet subtitle, use Add text.
Border / frame draws a solid rectangle around the image. Polaroid-style padding isn't here, you get a colour and a width. Useful for thumbnails that disappear on a white page.
Shapes & arrows overlay a rectangle and an arrow. Bug reports, “look here,” circling a total on a screenshot. Not a full shape library. If you need a flowchart, you're in the wrong category.
Freehand draw is a brush on the image. Circle something ugly, sign a name in a hurry, scribble out a line. For a clean signature you might reuse, the signature tool is better.
Blur / redact region pixelates or blurs the rectangle you select. Faces, account numbers, a Slack sidebar. Zoom the result. If you can still read it, go heavier or use a bigger box.
Add signature lets you draw or place a signature on a scan. It is a bitmap on the page, not a legally mystic certificate. For a document that matters, use a real signing workflow; for “print, sign, scan” this is the scan step.
If the blocks are coarse enough that you can't read the digits at 100% zoom, yes. If you still can, no. Don't rely on a mild blur. When in doubt, cover more than you think you need and check the downloaded file, not just the preview.
Add text is a general caption: size, colour, stroke, shadow, wherever you put it. Meme generator is the two-bar layout people expect when they say “meme.” Same pixels, different job.
No. What you see is flattened into the download. If you might need the clean original, keep the original. This site doesn't have a PSD-style stack.
There is no server to upload to. Each page is a static file, and the work happens in your browser. Your file is read from disk into memory, processed, and handed back as a download. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the network and it keeps working. The longer explanation
