About Signature maker
Draw a signature with a mouse, finger or stylus, or type your name in one of three fonts, and download it as a transparent 800 by 280 PNG. The strokes never leave your browser.
A signature image is something you reuse: at the bottom of a PDF, on a scanned form, in a letter you are about to print. Most signature sites ask for an account or upload your pen strokes to build the file, which is a lot of ceremony for a squiggle. Here the canvas, the typed-name rendering and the PNG export all happen in the tab, and the page has no upload step.
In Draw mode you sign on the canvas with whatever pointer you have. The line is a fixed 2.5-pixel dark ink, and there is no colour or thickness control. In Type mode you enter a name and pick Georgia, Script or Brush; the text is drawn centred at a fixed size in the same dark ink. Script and Brush use fonts your device already has (Segoe Script and Brush Script MT), so the same name can look different on a Mac, a Windows PC and a phone, and a device without them falls back to a generic cursive. Strokes you drew earlier stay on the canvas when you switch to Type, so press Clear strokes first if you only want the typed version.
Download transparent PNG saves signature.png at 800 by 280 pixels with a transparent background. The image is not cropped to the ink, so there is empty margin around it; trim it with the crop tool if you need a tight box. The same button also keeps a copy in this tab's session storage, and the Use with Sign PDF link opens the PDF signing tool, which can pick that signature up. A picture of your handwriting is not a cryptographic or certified signature, and some contracts and agencies require something more formal.
How to use Signature maker
- 1Choose Draw or Type.
- 2Draw on the canvas, or type your name and pick Georgia, Script or Brush.
- 3Click Clear strokes if you want to start the drawing over.
- 4Click Download transparent PNG, or follow the Use with Sign PDF link to place it on a document.
What it won't do
- No cryptographic signing, no timestamping, no certificate.
- Fixed dark ink and a fixed 2.5-pixel stroke; typed names use fonts installed on your device.
- Export is always 800 by 280 pixels and is not trimmed to the ink.
Common questions
Is a signature image from the signature maker legally binding?
It depends on the document and the country. A pasted image is easy to copy, so some agencies and contracts require a certified e-signature service. This tool makes the picture; it does not timestamp, certify or identify anyone.
Why is the signature maker's PNG background transparent?
So it can sit over a signature line without a white box around it. If a form insists on a white background, place the PNG on a white page first, or flatten it in another tool.
Can I change the ink colour or pen thickness when drawing my signature?
No. Drawn lines are a fixed dark ink at 2.5 pixels, and typed names use the same colour. If you need a different look, recolour the PNG afterwards in a photo editor.
Why does my typed signature look different on another device?
The Script and Brush options use fonts installed on the device, not fonts shipped with the page. A machine without them draws a generic cursive instead. Draw the signature if you need it to look the same everywhere.

Why this one doesn't upload your file
There is no server to upload to. This page is a static file, and the work happens in your browser using the same graphics and WebAssembly code that renders every other site you visit. Your file is read from disk into memory, processed, and handed back as a download. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the network entirely and it keeps working. The longer explanation
