About Morse code translator

Translate text ↔ Morse code with synthesized audio playback and a visual flash — entirely in the browser.

Morse tables are a fixed standard — safe to hardcode like resistor color codes. Paste text or Morse, convert both ways, and play a 600 Hz training tone via Web Audio without shipping audio files.

Playback speed follows a WPM-style slider (dit length). A pulsing indicator mirrors the tone for accessibility when sound is off or unwanted.

Word gaps use / in the Morse pane. Unknown Morse tokens become ? on decode.

How to use Morse code translator

  1. 1Type text or Morse in either pane.
  2. 2Adjust WPM if you will play audio.
  3. 3Press play — watch the flash and listen to the tone.

What it won't do

  • Standard international table only.
  • Requires a browser AudioContext (user gesture may be needed to start).

Common questions

Are audio files downloaded?

No. Oscillators are created with the Web Audio API on the fly.

Which characters are supported?

A–Z, 0–9, and common punctuation from the international Morse set bundled on the page.

Can I prosign or amateur contest shortcuts?

Stick to the standard table here. Specialty prosigns are out of scope for v1.

Why this one doesn't upload your file

There is no server to upload to. This page is a static file, and the work happens in your browser using the same graphics and WebAssembly code that renders every other site you visit. Your file is read from disk into memory, processed, and handed back as a download. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the network entirely and it keeps working. The longer explanation
