About Anagram solver
Finds real words that use every one of your letters, so "listen" gives you "silent" and "tinsel". A bundled word list does the matching in your tab.
An anagram is a rearrangement of all the letters, nothing left over and nothing added. That's what this page starts with: type a word or phrase, and it lists dictionary words with exactly the same letters, using the same count of each. Spaces, digits, and punctuation are dropped before matching, so "listen" and "l i s t e n" give the same results: one pool of letters. Use ? or _ for a blank when you only know part of it; a blank counts as one letter that can be anything.
The word unscrambler is the sister page for a different job: a messy rack of tiles where you want every word you could make, shorter ones included. Both pages use the same engine and the same list; they just open in different modes. This one opens on "Use all letters" and the other opens on "Any length", and there's a toggle on each, so you can flip between the two. Use this page when the answer has to be an exact rearrangement, such as a cryptic crossword clue, a pen name, or a puzzle that says "anagram of".
The list holds around 12,500 common English words, two to twelve letters long. It includes some names and place names and leaves out many valid Scrabble words, so "no result" means "not in this list", not "not a word". Phrase-style anagrams that split across several words aren't generated; you get single words only.
How to use Anagram solver
- 1Type the letters, or a word to rearrange. Use ? for a blank.
- 2Leave it on Use all letters for true anagrams.
- 3Read the results, grouped by length, and copy the list if you need it.
What it won't do
- Single words only, from a bundled list of about 12,500 common words.
- A to Z letters only; the list tops out at 12 letters per word.
- Missing words in the list are common; check a Scrabble dictionary for rare ones.
Common questions
How is this different from the word unscrambler?
Same list, different starting point. The anagram solver defaults to words that use every letter, which is what an anagram is. The word unscrambler defaults to any length of word you can build from the letters, with a minimum length. Either page can switch to the other's mode, so the real difference is the question each one is answering.
Can I use wildcards?
Yes, use ? or _ (an asterisk also works) for each blank tile. A blank counts toward the length and can stand for any single letter. Several blanks make the results list long fast.
Why does it only return single words?
Matching is word by word against the dictionary. Multi-word anagrams, such as turning a name into a short phrase, would need a different search that this page doesn't do.
Does it handle accented letters?
No. Only the letters a to z are used. Anything else, including accents, digits, and spaces, is dropped before the search.

Why this one doesn't upload your file
There is no server to upload to. This page is a static file, and the work happens in your browser using the same graphics and WebAssembly code that renders every other site you visit. Your file is read from disk into memory, processed, and handed back as a download. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the network entirely and it keeps working. The longer explanation
